NTG Travel Café with Dutch Travel Organizations

On May 24, the Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) was present at the Travel Challenge 2019, where Tourism Education and the Industry both from The Netherlands gathered together in order to discuss the first outcomes of the NTG desk and field research at the first NTG Travel Café. Lobke Elbers, representative of NTG on behalf of Breda University of Applied Sciences shared the main outcomes of the surveys and interviews that were being conducted among the eight European partner countries with the top of the Dutch Travel organizations such as KLM, ANWB, Corendon and many more representatives of the tourism industry. NTG Blueprint Event – May 6

On May 6, delegates from different EU member states, tourism ministries, academics, educational institutes and other interests gathered for the first NTG Blueprint Event in Brussels. The event focused on exploring and discussing the opportunities to establish a Tourism Blueprint European network behind the NTG eight target countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany) and with the participation of other countries. The NTG key partners Federturismo Confindustria, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Cardiff Metropolitan University, People 1st, Technological University Dublin, Eurogites and CEHAT were present during the event. The Next Tourism Generation (NTG) desk research report has been composed by Breda University of Applied Sciences, focusing on digital, social and green skills in the tourism industry in Europe. Furthermore, the most important trends, issues and challenges in digital and sustainability skills development for the tourism and hospitality sector were being reviewed in the partner countries involved in the NTG project (Bulgaria, Germany, UK, Spain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands). European Vocational Skills Week 2019

The European Vocational Skills Week 2019 will be hosted in Helsinki in October 2019. NTG at FiturtechY – Spain

In January 2019, The Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) was represented at the FiturtechY. This is the specialized section for technology and tourism that FITUR – IFEMA and the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) jointly organize annually. This section of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair in Spain, has more than 12 years of history, through which it has become a benchmark for innovation in the sector. Covering a space of more than 2,000 square metres at Feria de Madrid, the section has four forums dedicated to business management, tourism destinations, sustainability and future trends in tourism – all connected by technology as the main theme. FiturtechY also has an exhibition space, in which visitors have the opportunity to see the latest developments in digital technology.
