Employment in tourism in the digital age – Impact Hub Madrid

“Employment in tourism in the digital age” was the central theme of the conference organised by SEGITTUR on World Tourism Day at the Impact Hub Madrid on 27 September. Our Next Tourism Generation Alliance key partner CEHAT presented the efforts of the Alliance.

The aim of this conference was to analyse how employment is evolving in the tourism sector, which has been undergoing a digital transformation in recent years, making it necessary for staff to develop new skills to respond to the needs of the sector.READ MORE

Silvia Barbone represents NTG at the OECD Meeting

The Next Tourism Generation Alliance project leader Silvia Barbone from Federturismo Confindustria will be present at the OECD get together in Paris on Wednesday 2 October. The OECD is the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. During this meeting, Silvia will give an update on the progress of the NTG project at the “Preparing the tourism workforce for the digital future” session. Furthermore, the emphasis will be on the explanation of the preparation of the European Commission’s Blueprint for Sectoral Co-operation on Skills. READ MORE

NTG Travel Café with Dutch Travel Organizations

On May 24, the Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) was present at the Travel Challenge 2019, where Tourism Education and the Industry both from The Netherlands gathered together in order to discuss the first outcomes of the NTG desk and field research at the first NTG Travel Café. Lobke Elbers, representative of NTG on behalf of Breda University of Applied Sciences shared the main outcomes of the surveys and interviews that were being conducted among the eight European partner countries with the top of the Dutch Travel organizations such as KLM, ANWB, Corendon and many more representatives of the tourism industry. NTG Blueprint Event – May 6

On May 6, delegates from different EU member states, tourism ministries, academics, educational institutes and other interests gathered for the first NTG Blueprint Event in Brussels. The event focused on exploring and discussing the opportunities to establish a Tourism Blueprint European network behind the NTG eight target countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany) and with the participation of other countries. The NTG key partners Federturismo Confindustria, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Cardiff Metropolitan University, People 1st, Technological University Dublin, Eurogites and CEHAT were present during the event.
