World Tourism Day will be hosted in Budapest on the 27th of September. The capital of Hungary is a classical European city and aims to commit to the digital future which makes this hosting city a perfect stage for the celebration of tourism.
The event venue of this years Europe Summer School, in collaboration with NTG, this October will be the beautiful Villages Nature Paris. With pride, the park represents itself as ‘a brand new holiday concept’. It has been established through a successful collaboration between Euro Disney SCA and Pierre et Vacances Center Parcs Group. The park excels as a model for sustainable tourism using primely geothermal energy, sending zero waste to landfill, having no automobiles in the Village, and more that contributes positively to the environment.
Leadership and Governance for Sustainable Tourism is the PM4SD (Project management for Sustainable Development) annual Event. The 2018 edition will be a major EU event in partnership with the Next Tourism Generation (NTG) consortium led by Federturismo Confindustra, and in collaboration with FEST (Foundation for European Sustainable Tourism, ETC (European Travel Commission), the Blue Community Consortium and Villages Nature ® Paris as key partners.READ MORE

Since the start of the project in march, each Next Tourism Generation (NTG) partner collected and studied an overview of existing information, studies and reports regarding tourism skills assessment, future needs, trends and developments in Digital and Sustainability Skills. All partners have been activated to conduct the desk research of the current situation regarding digital and sustainability skills development in their country, current delivery types and future needs. After June 1, the results will be consolidated into a comprehensive report, representing the management summary of the secondary data analysis which will, in turn, provide input for the next steps of primary data collection: the collection of best practices, an online survey and expert interviews.
The European Commission is focusing on an European partnership for implementing a long-term strategy for skills development in tourism and has initiated a 4 year Erasmus+ project. On March 5, projectleader of the Next Tourism Generation, Silvia Barbone (Federturismo Confindustria) and the 14 partners have launched the Next Tourism Generation Alliance in Brussels at the European Travel Commission headquarters. NTG is a unique tourism skills project that, from 2018 onwards will allow education and the tourism industry to respond to the skills needs of the tourism sector and offer concrete, innovative skills solutions.READ MORE
