INCOME Tourism / NTG webinar on tourism education, employability and industry

Our key partner ATLAS – Association of Tourism and Leisure Education and Research organized the first INCOME Tourism / NTG webinar last September. There were 15 participants that joined the special track on Tourism Education, Employability and Industry with 5 presentations from 5 different perspectives/countries via the online webinar. The presentations focused on questions of how HEIs can foster employability of tourism students by addressing the right skills and on effective methods of teaching and training in close cooperation with the tourism industry and HEIs.READ MORE

Insights from the conference

The 25th annual conference of the Association for Tourism in Higher Education had as its theme: Creativity & Transformation in Tourism Education: REF, TEF, and Collaboration with Industry. Seeking to investigate diverse methodologies of engagement between tourism education and industry, the event focused on areas such as project-based learning (PBL) and establishing alliances with industry, particularly in relation to graduate employability and labour market transformation. Furthermore, key partner Cardiff MET also presented various Next Tourism Generation (NTG) during the conference about the digital and sustainability skills needs in Wales. READ MORE
