European Vocational Skills Week 2019

The European Vocational Skills Week 2019 will be hosted in Helsinki in October 2019. This event focuses on discussing multiple stakeholder perspectives on the implementation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and how this can be beneficial for the future of Europe. Furthermore, the very best of training and skills through thousands of events and activities across Europe will be highlighted in order to show why Vocational Education and Training is a smart choice for individuals and companies. NTG focuses on developing modules and learning methods that will be integrated into the current European VET system and Industry, providing a benchmark, tools and good practice for green and social skills to support sustainable development and digital and technological innovation within 5 sub-sectors operations. NTG at FiturtechY – Spain

In January 2019, The Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) was represented at the FiturtechY. This is the specialized section for technology and tourism that FITUR – IFEMA and the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH) jointly organize annually. This section of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair in Spain, has more than 12 years of history, through which it has become a benchmark for innovation in the sector. Covering a space of more than 2,000 square metres at Feria de Madrid, the section has four forums dedicated to business management, tourism destinations, sustainability and future trends in tourism – all connected by technology as the main theme. FiturtechY also has an exhibition space, in which visitors have the opportunity to see the latest developments in digital technology.

Sustainable hospitality in the Balkan-Mediterranean

Building capacity of umbrella organizations to support sustainable hospitality

 

Next Tourism Generation (NTG) key partner Varna University of Management presented the NTG project during the workshop at the HELIX project on February 21, 2019. The HELIX project focuses on the potential of the Balkan-Mediterranean hospitality sector, in order to boost the regional and national economic growth. Furthermore, new employment opportunities are rising in this area as well.

Next Tourism Generation represented at EFFAT

As a result of the first phase of the second work package of the Next Tourism Generation (NTG) – aims at creating an Industry Skills Needs Assessment Report representing a database of (future) skills criteria / industry needs – the desk research report has been completed. It was composed under supervision of Breda University of Applied Sciences, and provides an overview of existing (European and global) studies, developments and reports related to skills gaps in digital, green and social skills.READ MORE
